Is there a test for the 2-Hour or 4-Hour Cosmetology CE Course?
No. Neither course includes a final exam or test. You simply need to complete the required hours of instruction to earn your CE credit.
How long do the Texas Cosmetology CE Courses take?
The 2-Hour Course is designed to meet the TDLR requirement of 2 hours of continuing education (minimum 100 minutes of instruction).
The 4-Hour Course meets the TDLR requirement of 4 hours of continuing education (minimum 200 minutes of instruction).
Who is required to take the 2-Hour CE Course?
Cosmetologists, manicurists, estheticians, and other beauty professionals with 15 years or more of licensure must complete the 2-hour course — covering both sanitation and human trafficking awareness — to renew their license, as required by TDLR.
Who is required to take the 4-Hour CE Course?
Licensees with less than 15 years of licensure must complete the 4-hour course, which includes sanitation, human trafficking awareness, and Texas laws and rules.
Are your courses approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR)?
Yes. Both the 2-hour and 4-hour courses are fully accredited by TDLR and meet all continuing education requirements for Texas cosmetology license renewal.
Do I have to take the CE Course every time I renew my license?
Yes. TDLR requires continuing education for every license renewal. You cannot reuse a certificate from a previous renewal period.
- If you’ve been licensed for 15 years or more, you must complete the 2-hour course (1 hour sanitation, 1 hour human trafficking awareness).
- If you’ve been licensed for less than 15 years, you must complete the 4-hour course (includes additional laws and rules content).
How will I receive my certificate after completing the course?
