Everything You Need To Know About the RBS Server ID Number
RBS Training

The RBS Server ID Number is a unique nine-digit number that is assigned by the California Department of Alcohol Beverage Control or the ABC. This number is given to those seeking a certification to serve alcohol in the state of California. It is generally used to track your training progress and certification status. If you are a new hire in the industry or need to renew your license or certification this number will be essential to those causes. Here’s everything you need to know about the RBS Server ID number

Getting Your RBS Server ID Number

If you are new to the service industry and need to acquire your alcohol server certification from the state of California, it all starts with the ABC RBS Portal. Once you find yourself there, all you need to do is register with a username and password, pay a quick and easy non-refundable fee and then login to your new account. The ABC will then automatically generate your RBS Server ID number which can be found under “Server Certificate Details”. It’s that simple.

How to Use Your RBS Server ID During Training

Once you are properly enrolled for your RBS Training, you will need to provide your RBS server ID number when you register for any RBS server certification for the state of California. After your training and testing are both complete, your certification status will update. At this point, your Server ID number will also show up as your certification number.

Do You Need to Renew Your RBS Server ID number?

Your RBS Server ID number is valid for three years. Once you hit expiration, you will need to repeat the process. This means that you will log in once more to the ABC RBS Portal and pay the slight renewal fee. You will then need to retest to bring your certifications up to date. Your RBS Server ID number will remain the same after renewal.

Things You Need to Know About Your RBS Server ID number

Your RBS Server ID number is only valid if you have completed payment and then submitted your application for training. Only after these easy steps have been completed will you be able to login to your RBS account. Failure to properly register and pay the fee means that a RBS Server ID number will not be generated for you.

If you are having issues with your RBS Server ID number, this could be the result of a name or email mismatch or an incorrect RBS Server ID number being applied. Be sure that the name on your RBS account matches the name on your RBS registration and that your email is the same. Also, for the sake of clarity or certification issues, your 9-digit RBS Server ID number should begin with either 312 or 313.
