How long will the Texas Cosmetology Sanitation & Human Trafficking CE Course take?
The course is designed to meet the TDLR requirement of two hours of continuing education. You must spend a minimum of 50 minutes per credit hour, for a total of at least 100 minutes, for the course to count.
Who is required to take the 2-Hour Cosmetology CE Course?
Cosmetologists, manicurists, estheticians, and other beauty professionals with 15 years or more of licensure must complete this 2-hour course — covering both sanitation and human trafficking awareness — to renew their license, as required by TDLR.

Yes. This course is fully accredited by TDLR to meet the continuing education requirement for cosmetology license renewal.
Do I have to take the 2-Hour CE Course every time I renew my license?

Re-Enrollment FAQ’s
How do I complete the 2-hour Texas Cosmetology CE for my license renewal?
To complete your 2-hour CE, log in using your email and password, then select RE-ENROLL (or TAKE COURSE AGAIN) from your dashboard. Confirm your information, complete the two one-hour sections (Sanitation and Human Trafficking Awareness), and download your Certificate of Completion when finished.
Who qualifies for the Texas 2-hour cosmetology CE course?
This 2-hour course is designed for Texas cosmetology and barbering licensees who have held a Texas license for at least 15 years. For 15+ year licensees, TDLR requires 2 hours total: 1 hour sanitation and 1 hour human trafficking awareness.
When do I need to take this course?
Continuing education hours are applied toward your license renewal. If you are renewing your license, you should complete your CE before you submit your renewal so your hours can be posted to your TDLR record in time.
How long does the 2-hour course take?
Most students finish in about 2 hours. Each section is designed to cover the required topics thoroughly while staying focused and easy to complete.
Do I need to take the course again for my next renewal cycle?
Yes. Continuing education is tied to your renewal cycle, not a permanent certification. TDLR requires human trafficking training for each renewal cycle, and sanitation is also part of the required CE for eligible licensees.
Will you report my CE hours to TDLR?
Yes. As a TDLR-approved provider, we report your completed CE hours directly to TDLR. TDLR maintains the official CE record used for license renewal. (Posting time can vary; many providers state up to 24 hours.)
Will I receive a certificate? Does it “expire”?
Yes — you will receive a Certificate of Completion for your records after finishing the course. The course itself does not “expire,” but CE hours are used to satisfy your license renewal requirements for the applicable renewal period.
What if I’m not sure whether I’m at 15+ years?
If you’re unsure, check your licensure history in your TDLR account. If you have held your license for fewer than 15 years, TDLR’s CE requirements may be different (often 4 hours starting Sept 1, 2025).
Is there a grace period if my license is already expired?
TDLR rules and renewal status can vary depending on whether the renewal is timely or late. The safest approach is to complete the CE before renewing so your record is updated and you remain compliant.
